After years of wearing the Addict AD-02L, also known as the Double Rider Jacket, it became clear that Addict Clothes Japan was the perfect partner for a unique collaboration. Their meticulous attention to detail, use of proprietary materials, innovative tanning methods, and unparalleled fit and feel set them apart in the world of Japanese leather craftsmanship.
This collaboration was born out of a desire to create something truly distinctive; something that hadn’t yet been seen in the market. The vision was to combine three standout features into one cohesive design: a sleek Café collar, D-pocket, and an outer shell crafted from premium horsehide leather. The result? A jacket that blends timeless style with exceptional quality, embodying the spirit of innovation that both Addict and ButterScotch strive for.
Second Iteration: More Comfort & Wearability
2-Way Brass Zipper
The 2022 TRI Jacket brings an exciting update to the original collaboration between ButterScotch and Addict Clothes Japan. Now featuring a 2-way Addict-branded brass zipper, this long-awaited detail adds even more comfort and versatility to the iconic design. With its Café collar, D-pocket, and horsehide outer shell, the TRI Jacket remains a timeless classic, now updated and elevated for 2022.
Third Iteration: Third Iteration
Two body length options, larger arm holes
For 2025, the TRI Jacket evolves once again with real time customer feedback in mind. The armhole has been slightly opened for improved comfort and ease of movement, becoming the new fit standard. Additionally, we are introducing a new “Regular” version, featuring a shorter body length, roughly 3 to 5 cm less than the original, designed to hit above the belt line.
The original “Long” version, introduced in 2019, remains available for those who prefer the classic fit. Both versions now combine timeless style with the updated armhole fit for all who want to enjoy a truly unique and exclusive leather jacket.

The Café Collar on the TRI Jacket is a unique design, sitting lower on the neck and shoulders for a sleek, modern look. It features adjustable two-snap positions and smaller, refined lapels that frame the neck when open or snap back with Patina brass hardware. This updated design ensures a flattering fit for both small and broad shoulders, offering a contemporary take on classic styling.
The TRI Jacket’s standout feature is its custom D-Pocket, a design inspired by 1940s and 50s leathers and flight jackets. Unlike traditional styles, the pocket is more vertically upright for easy access across the body, with a snap-closure coin pocket on top. Additional pockets include a slant chest pocket, a hand warmer pocket, and an internal flask pocket. Finished with patina brass hardware, the TRI Jacket balances vintage inspiration with functional design.
The TRI Jacket features heavy-gauge patina brass zippers with closed ball chain loop pulls for easy use, even while wearing gloves, perfect for riders. The chunky main zipper and vintage-inspired hardware pay homage to 1940s and 50s leather jackets, highlighting Addict's dedication to timeless craftsmanship. The TRI Jacket showcases Addict’s signature rich burgundy diamond-quilted body lining with a low-profile fill for added wind resistance. The sleeves feature a durable fatigue green poly satin lining, offering a smooth feel against the skin when worn with a T-shirt or ensuring easy layering for colder days.
A Western back yoke was chosen as a defining feature of the TRI Jacket’s back. With so much detail on the front, this yoke adds a clean yet distinctive touch to the otherwise simple back. A straight seam yoke wouldn’t have done justice to the design, making the Western style the perfect choice.
The TRI Jacket features a curved back hem, adding a modern touch to its design while providing extra coverage and style. The back hem sits about 2 cm lower than the front, enhancing its fit and overall silhouette.
The sleeve zippers on the TRI Jacket are placed on the underside for a cleaner, more modern aesthetic compared to the traditional top placement found on classic riding leathers. Each sleeve also features an expanding zippered gusset for a fully closed sleeve opening, blending functionality with a sleek design.

The Fit of the AD-BS01S or TRI Jacket is a tailored fit and is sized
as True to Size. It features a tailored body and sleeve for a true close
to body fit as a cafe should be. It is meant to be worn snug and the
collar to sit snug to the neck with 1 to 2 fingers of gap for movement
and breathing room. Sleeve opening is also designed to sit snug against
the wrist for a slim fit and is adjustable thanks to the gusset zippered
sleeve.

TRI Jacket Pricing and Pre-Order Details
- Price: $2,175.00
- Pre-Order Period: Open until the end of January 2025.
- Deposit: A 50% deposit ($1,087.50) secures your size and production slot. The remaining 50% ($1,087.50) will be due upon completion and shipping of your jacket.
Delivery Timeline: Jackets are expected to deliver in Fall 2025. The exact date will be updated once confirmed with Addict.
