ButterScotch Boots - Clubman Chelsea - Black Chromexcel
The Clubman Chelsea Boot is a refined essential from us at ButterScotch, handcrafted in Los Angeles, California with timeless style and everyday versatility in mind.
Inspired by classic British boots and reimagined through the ButterScotch lens, the Clubman combines minimalist design with rugged durability. Made from premium full-grain leather, hand-lasted, and Goodyear welted for lasting comfort and longevity, it’s built to move seamlessly from the daily grind to weekends on the go, aging beautifully with every mile. A true reflection of commitment to craft, the Clubman stands for honest materials, thoughtful design, and a dedication to making things the right way.
After searching for the perfect Chelsea and coming up short it was time to create our own that checked all the boxes and had what we felt were the most important construction details to not only make this a pair of boots you want to wear day in and day out but also look good and feel good in them.
Where do we start?
Lets start from the top down.
Shaft Height, spec'ing at just a hair under 7" the Clubman features a taller shaft then the standard on the market Chelsea for more coverage and less time trying to get the perfect pant leg to boot coverage.. Nothing worse then having to constantly pull your pants back over your Chelsea boots because they are too short.
Elastic Insert, This was a big one in the design and form of the Clubman Chelsea. The elastic insert had to be strong and rigid for constant wear. I personally wore my prototype boots for almost 3 years to ensure the elastic would hold up without loosing its retention or become loose and wavy from the constant stretching during the taking on and off process.
Heel Height / Cuban Heel, The Clubman features a 28mm heel height giving it a bit more of a "dress" esthetic which allows more versatility in their wearing options. It breaks the walls down between casual and dress and the ability to wear for more formal occasions. Now add in the Cuban style heel and the Clubman just entered a class of its own. The cuban shape is something you would not typically find in a boot that is intended for daily wearing, but we were able to create a pair that has style in comfort which leads us to the next point
Half Sole, I chose the Vibram 700 half sole and paired it with the 705 Heel stack to create comfort and confidence. The Vibram 700 & 705 give you, the wearer, rubber contact points to the ground and grip in the form of the V-Bar pattern that gives you traction in all weather conditions, wet or dry. This was important to have a sole that worked into the style and functionality of the Clubman Chelsea. A lot of times Chelseas are hard sole, or smooth sole'd which really limit the functionality of being able to wear them every day. Additionally the Vibram outsoles provide all day comfort thanks to the tygum compound that is also o
il and slip-resistant.
Toe Shape, The Toe Shape was important because this is a shape and look that will define the entire boot. We created our own 42 last to combine a dress and workwear infused shape. A taller toe box gives you room without feeling too roomy while the medium almond shape gives you the dress and fashion. Not too round but almost not too pointy. The Toebox on the Clubman really is a perfect balance of design.
Welt Construction, The 270 Goodyear flat welt construction gives you peace of mind that you are not only getting a quality pair of handmade boots but you are also getting a pair that can be re-crafted time and time again for life. Goodyear welted is key to the entire production process for ButterScotch Boots. I wanted to build a product I can truly stand behind and offer you, the customer the confidence that your LA-made boots can be brought back to us when its time for a re-sole. Our re-crafting services will be available to all the Boots in the ButterScotch Boot brand lineup.
The Clubman was designed to be worn daily and enjoyed. 3 years of R&D went into these boots to ensure they were the best they could be without any compromise.

SIZING
The Clubman Chelsea runs true to Size and is a D Width.
Take your Normal Sneaker Size.
Tommy wears a 9 sneaker and wears a 9 in the Clubman Chelsea.
Each Pair comes with an extra set of insoles incase you have any wiggle room.
PRE-ORDER
For our first every launch of ButterScotch Boots we are building boots to order.
Now though Nov. 30th, 2025 the pre-order will be open to secure your very own pair of boots.
Delivery date is expected by January 2026.

A 50% deposit secures your pair into production (automatically applied at checkout)
Please note all deposits are non refundable.
A remaining 50% deposit will be due at time of completion and shipping.

We built a durable and study box so that when the time comes you can re-use the box slap a label on it and ship your boots back to us for a refresh.
