Fine Creek Leathers - Lynchburg
A style that has made Fine Creek a name for itself; the Lynchburg jacket draws its inspiration from the first Lee short denim jacket first introduced in the 40's, being re-imagined in their truly excellent veg-tanned, aniline dyed horse hide from the renowned Hemjie tannery in Japan.
Tanned using a special recipe which creates a top coat which will wear over time revealing the natural brown undertones of the hide, this style of tanning has become known as 'tea core' leather for the golden brown tones which appear over time.
Each jacket is stitched in their Tokyo studio with great skill, using a fine stitch-count which is extremely hard to achieve on leather items, producing variations and puckering through the seams creating wonderful, subtle areas of character which runs through-out the jacket, adding to the overall detail.
Lined with black pigment dyed cotton the cotton stitching is a deep olive-grey colour as to contrast or detract from the horsehide as it ages.
With all of the features of the 1944 Lee jacket such as single iconic 'spade' shaped front pocket, pleated box stitched front and cinch back, all areas of stress are strengthened with a bras rivet.
