ButterScotch - Flying Tiger - Patch

In 1942, the Flying Tigers, also known as the AVG, disbanded and some pilots returned to their branches. Others formed the 23rd Fighter Group, which joined the 14th Air Force and its insignia represents its heritage. Tiger Squadron Commander Gregory Boyington, who shot down six Japanese planes, later received a Medal of Honor and became a Marine Corps ace.

The Flying Tiger design is a homage to this era.
